My name is Sherlly and I love food. Currently residing in New York, but born and raised in Miami, Florida. Ever since I could remember food was always on my mind and a big part of my family. Mother was a house wife and always cooked, she never missed a day of it. She taught me the love and passion towards cooking. I would always sit in the kitchen counter and watch mother prepare dinner and in those times it was my Food Network but Live. Mother is Ecuadorian and father is Colombian. In my father’s teen/young adult years he worked as a cook in the Garde Manger section of Le Cirque. Started from the bottom and worked his way up to cold appetizers up until he got too tired working long dreadful hours on the weekends, so in the end he opened his own casting company….Yeah I know random. So pretty much all my life I saw my father on the weekends his company is located in New York City and when visiting he would prepare the best Colombian dishes, use the French techniques he learned in Le Cirque and show it off to the family. Food once again was and still is a big part of my life.

After high school I attended Le Cordon Bleu for about 5 months out of the year I was supposed to take, so I don’t know if I could count that into my culinary resume but you know what…..I learned a lot they were intense classes Monday – Friday for 7 hours a day of just cooking, learning techniques and what not. I then moved to Guayaquil, Ecuador traveled all over the country, learned a bit about the culture and of course the food. This country is a must to go and visit it’s cheap, fun, beautiful, and the food is delicious! After about 4 or so months living there I moved to New York to live with my father. I applied to The French Culinary Institute and graduated in May of 2010  with a degree of Culinary Arts. Yes, I finally did it. Finished a culinary program.

I really love to collect, read/browse cookbooks and food magazines. I find inspiration in everything I see and eat. I want to share all these amazing recipes I have and know about with you. I also love kitchen gadgets and anything kitchen related. Whenever I have the time I would go and wander around William Sonoma, Sur La Table, and Crate and Barrel. I just want to buy everything! My kitchen is pretty much set and full of kitchen utensils and electronics but I’m always dreaming I’ll have more than what I have now….Oh yes I dream BIG.

    Hi there Sherlly!

My name is Steve Walters and I recently started blogging at http://www.eatingbangkok.com, which is currently being updated with recipes, but in the next few months will be my vehicle for covering the food and restaurant scene in Bangkok Thailand.

I am now in the process of meeting as many food bloggers as I can and I found your site https://ecualombian.wordpress.com recently and was pretty impressed. I’ve added your site to my Foodie Blogs list here: http://www.eatingbangkok.com/foodie-blogs/ and would also like to add you to my blogroll.

If you could add my site to your blogroll and write back to let me know it has been added I will add you to mine as well and the exchange would be greatly appreciated!

As you might imagine I am very excited to get moved to Bangkok and get started on covering the food scene there as I feel it is an area that isn’t well covered by English speaking bloggers. I plan on adding loads of great reviews, pictures and even video and will be holding contests as well. It should be fun, entertaining and informative for everyone that visits.

Thank you so much in advance for adding me to your blogroll and I look forward to reading your posts (I’ve subscribed!) and maybe even featuring some of your own posts as I do plan on a weekly roundup of Thai themed recipes and posts from other food bloggers.

    Warm regards,

P.S. If you are on Twitter I would love to have you as a follower and I follow back:
